Today is Earth Day
Show our Earth a little Random Act of Kindness. From this day on if you see litter on the ground outside pick it up. Try to pick up three pieces of trash a day. It will make you feel better and I'm sure Mother Earth will be pleased.
It's Friday & A Full Moon
Merry Friday
I must say that I am in such a great mood! I have had a tough week me and kids were very sick. But due to me taking a trip to my area Witch Store (called Earth Lore http://detroit.citysearch.com/profile/5194272 for those of you in and around the Detroit Metropolitan area). As soon as I walked in I took a deep breath and felt all the stress from work and sickness literally roll of my shoulders. I spent some serious cash in there (at least for me) stones, crystals, this sweet ass hourglass with the red sand like the one in the Wizard of Oz (I'll post pics later), incense, and a nice silver locket. ENOUGH of my shopping list. Let's just say that the money to me was well spent, and my night just became better:)) Life is good to me right now.
So I just wanted to share and to share this, my version of a Witches Bottle that I sent one of our covenspace bloggers. When life send you bad energy you make a Witches bottle to put it in ...
So if you can send me some good thoughts and energy as payment I'll send you some back three fold.
Here are the Witches Bottles
There are two ways to make one. Depending on which one feels right to you. You can either set a trap for negative evil energy to be trap and destroyed or you can make one that creates an impenetrable energy field surrounding you and your family (they sound the same but the setup is different). Either way your intention is what makes this work very well.
Here is how you can create one to trap/destroy the negative energy from you and loved ones.
Gather rosemary, needles, pins and red wine. Fill a small jar with the first three, saying while you work:
Pins, needles, rosemary, wine;
in this witches bottle of mine.
Guard against harm and enmity;
this is my will, so mote it be!
Visualize these doing just that. When the jar is full, pour in the red wine. Then cap or cork the jar and drip wax from a red or black candle to seal. Bury it at the farthest corner of your property or put it in an inconspicuous spot in your house. The witches' bottle destroys negativity and evil; the pins and needles impale evil, the wine drowns it, and the rosemary sends it away from your property.
Second way
Begin by gathering the following items:
A glass bottle with a top (a large spice bottle would work excellently)
Basil
Rosemary
1 Garlic clove
Pins
Needles
Thorns (anything that's sharp)
Black candle
Small pictures of the loved ones you wish to protect, and hand drawn car, house,
school (since those items may change at any given time, no need to have a picture of them. A description is all that's needed).
Plus a pair of tweezers (this will come in handy)
Once these items have been gathered, take them to a quiet place that will not be disturbed in nature, a barren spot in the woods works perfectly, or somewhere on your property where you know that one will find, trample over it, or dig up.
Dig a hole that will completely cover the bottle (@ least 4 inches of soil should cover the bottle)
Take the bottle in your hand; put your Basil, Rosemary, and 1 Garlic clove in the bottle.
Then place all of your sharp objects into the bottle (careful not to hurt yourself),
Using tweezers carefully place your small pictures of the loved ones, hand drawn car, house, and school into the middle of the bottle (as best you can).
Light your candle and concentrate on the hole being a solid shield of power around you and loved ones, above you, and below you. Speak the following aloud:
I call to the powers of the universe, to the god and goddess, and all other good entities who might provide assistance to my cause. I consecrate this bottle (raise the bottle in the air) as a tool of power and protection by the name of Isis and Athena, so mote it be.'
I call thee Demeter, Goddess of Earth to empower this bottle for protection. So mote it be.'
Drip the black candle wax on the lid sealing those who you love safely inside.
Now mother earth will protect you and your loved ones.
I like this one. Because if anyone is trying to hurt you they can't because the pins pierce the negative energy before it gets to you and then the negatives energy leaves you alone because of the basil rosemary and garlic.
Do you have Ethics? Do you practice them?
I took this definition from wikipedia.org
Ethics is a major branch of philosophy, encompassing right conduct and good life.
Morality (from the Latin moralitaser "manner, character, proper behavior") is the learning process of distinguishing between virtues and vices.
Ethics and morals are respectively akin to theory and practice. Ethics denotes the theory of right action and the greater good, while morals indicate their practice.
Many people believe they have ethics, but how many of those people are moral? You can have a stockpile of ethics that you hold dear, however if you don't have morals and actually put them into practice, then those ethics will never hold any weight.
I hear so many people who truly believe since they have the desire to do good for themselves/others; they think it's enough (they talk a good game). Also there are people out there that ware their ethics on their sleeve, and practice to some extent what they preach. At least until they encounter someone who doesn't share their views and ethics and then, morality goes out the window.
I do not pretend to be a moral witch all of the time. I do TRY to practice my views as often as I can. I don't set out to cause problems or to always subject people to my way of thinking.
Now the hard part... When I find a person who doesn't have the same ethics and moral character as I do, I will usually try to explain my point of view, if it is not well received; I stay on the path of higher ground for as long as I can. I figure that we are made in the "image" of the God and Goddess, and I feel that to be true also as in their "temperament". Everyone knows of God's wrath and how a flood/brimstone would come when he was trying to teach a lesson, when a Goddess drove men to madness causing them to kill their own children, and who can forget a Goddess who is know for crib deaths. Well just as the God or Goddess is capable of horrid acts, I too have my faults. I may scream and rant at times, but I never use magic to cause physical or mental harm to those who endanger me or my family... I am like the fawn in that aspect better to run to safety (when able) then to stand and harm. (Now you know why I am Screamingfawn)
I do not pretend to be so unflawed as to say I don't think about retaliation, but I do stop and think about how I will feel and how (if I did succumb to anger) how will it affect me.
As of today I am content to follow and act on my ethics.
